Slavic Campfire Tales: An Evening Encounter With The Unseen Forest.

September 27 @ September 27 - September 27

Sit at a campfire with the Last Rural Forester for an evening encounter with the ‘unseen’ forest.

Long before the science of forest ecology, Slavic foresters of Eastern Europe perceived living nature as enveloping and interacting with their daily lives. Similar to a stage set change in the theatre, oral tradition can only be perceived and experienced within particular forest settings at certain times. After sunset, the ‘seen’ forest loses visibility and the ‘unseen’ forest becomes much easier to perceive and experience for the untrained apprentice. Follow the Last Rural Forester on an evening storytelling journey through the mystic, spiritual world of the ‘unseen’ forest. With luck, you may catch a glimpse of Lysovyk watching from the edge of forest darkness, when his name is mentioned in Slavic tales. A film crew may record scenes of the campfire during the evening.
